I see some say I had to pay Security deposit and first month, while others say I had no deposit just signed lease and first months rent paid.

Think the deposits they're referring to are application deposits, or deposits to hold your place, that kind of deposit. As others have said, nearly all apartments require a security deposit upon signing a lease.
